In the UAE, the private ownership and trade of wildlife such as Marmoset monkeys or any other type of exotic animals is strictly illegal according to the Federal Law No. 22 of 2016. The law aims to regulate the possession, trade, and breeding of wild or dangerous animals.
Violations of this law can attract steep fines, imprisonment, as well as confiscation of the animals. The penalties include fines between AED 10,000 and AED 500,000, and/or imprisonment of up to six months.
In addition, under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), which UAE is a part of, trade in specimens of listed species is subject to certain controls.
Therefore, by continuing with this transaction, both you as the person promoting this trade and any potential buyers would be participating in an illegal activity and subject to these penalties. I advise you to obey the laws that have been put to protect endangered species and our ecosystem.
