As a dependent, am I required to stay in the Kingdom for 3 months before my iqama's expiry date?

My iqama expires in the middle of February 2024. I was told by some people that to be eligible for iqama renewal I have to continuously stay in Saudi Arabia for three months before my iqama expires. Is this correct?

I have to take an important trip to my home country but the human resources department at my father's office is not allowing a re-entry visa after October 31, saying that I have to fully be in the country during November, December and January or else my iqama will not be renewed.

For context, I want to point out that I have a dependent iqama which makes me more confused about why I would have to be in the country for renewal.

Thank you for your help.
